Joe Joe Turns Nine

My grandson
loved zebras.

So for his birthday
we got him

a gigantic zebra,
huge black

and white stripes,
colossal eyes,

big big ears,
hooves

the size
of the United Nations

building,
tail longer

than the Hudson River.
Alas, and chihuahua,

my grandson
has outgrown it.
